Publish > More Info Screen loads very slowly

Hi guys,

FYI, I installed the latest version of the app you emailed to me and noticed when I click Publish > More Info button, the Memberhhip Info screen takes a long time to load your content… gives the illusion there is a bug, when its just slow loading the content. I'm using a wireless connection so that could be the cause. Thought you should know.

Hi Charmaine, thanks for noticing that, coincidentally I was looking at the very same screen earlier today.  Unfortunately at fault is our web site.  For some reason it's running extremely slow.  We will get the server rebooted later tonight and hopefully that will resolve this issue.  Thanks for joining our Publishing membership.  We are a few hours from releasing another update.

ABC Tutor Published

I have published my third app (ABC Tutor). I have my own Apple and Google Play accounts, so for Android you can provide me the APK or publish and transfer it to my account. For Apple, I believe you will have to publish and transfer to my account.

shape distortion

Yes I am trying to get you to build Illustrator! ;) Think you could support a feature that lets us deform a shape? That way we could give it perspective. If I could take a rectangle and deform the top left and top right corners in, then I would have a table top in 3 dimensional space, to all appearances.

We are definitely planning to support more vector based graphics in future builds which will include the ability to essentially draw your own shape and potentially take existing shapes and manipulate them in different ways.

Bookcase image

Bookcase image says "(not set)" although it is.

Once I select an image, it says "(set)" but changes the (not set) the next time.

BTW, I tried sending feedback directly from the app and got an error:

Did you tried in the newest IB3 version? I was not able to recreate this. I was able to change the Bookcase Image and it said "set" and didn't go back. Also I was able to send feedback.

Page turn delay

I am experiencing delays when moving between pages in my book (this happens both when I click a button I've set up to move to next page, and when I set up an action to jump to another page).
In Interact Builder-Interact mode the delay is about 1 second.
In Interact Player the delay is about 2 seconds.
Is this something that will improve once the app is published to the iTunes Store or Android market? The kids testing my app are frustrated with these delays and are losing interest.
Other (non-Interact Builder) kids apps that I use respond pretty much instantaneously. I also looked at the "About Airports" app built with Interact Builder, and the pages take about .5 seconds with a curl effect.
My book is 27 pages, fairly simple animations, 46 MB.

Element Manager not working

The Element Manger window is not showing on my pages after page 11. When I go back to prior pages, I can access it. But not on pages 12 and 13.

Hmm, I haven't encountered that before, and it appeared in a test that I tried just now. I wonder if it has to do with any specific elements on the page. I have a few questions to see if I can reproduce the problem:

- Are you in Design mode when you try to open the element manager?
- Which button do you use to access the element manager -- the icon at the bottom of the window, to the right of "Add Element," or the icon in the bottom center of the page menu?
- Are there any elements on those pages that may be blocking the element manager?
- What types of elements are on those pages?

Totally Confused by L,T, R, B Coordinates for Random Animation Movement

Let's say I have a symmetrical object exactly centered on the screen at at 640, 400 (on an Android screen set for 1280 x 800) and I want to animate a random movement constrained ten pixels in each direction. What are the Left, Top, Right and Bottom coordinates that should be entered?,This is driving me crazy! :-)

Hi Ted,

The constraints depend on the dimensions of the element as well as its coordinates. If the element's anchor point is "Middle-Center," then the constraints should be the parts of the screen where the element's edges should not pass.

Upgrade DB error for new book

Just updated 11/8, installed version now says Build 386 as of 10/9/2014 2:12pm. Am I really on the latest?

Anyhoo, having server sync errors, so I created a new test book. As soon as it was created it said "synching" and then threw the following error:

Trouble Syncing with Server

Is anyone on this forum having trouble syncing with the server when they interact with their app? My app DOES sync, but it takes a REALLY long time. 52 minutes this morning. Then there were a lot of problems with the app that didn't exist when I was using IB3. This incredibly long process makes it extremely tedious and difficult to work on my app in IB4.

Any ideas to streamline this process?

Have you tried just a single page app to see if there isn't a communication issue going on with our server?

shared apps not accepting username/password

I'm developing apps for my algebra class to use.  I've started sharing with 2 people so that they can test them out and give feedback.  On the iPad, they download InteractPlayer, start it up and it prompts for the username/password.  

However, it is not accepting the username/password sent in the email they receive from InteractStudios.  How is this supposed to work now?  Thanks.
