Movement > Spin - graphic asset is being enlarged and cropped unintentionally

IB3 enlarges a static graphic set to spin in Interact mode, making part of the asset's image being cropped from view.  It looks like the image is being enlarged by about 20%.

To reproduce, see the app I shared with Alin, Page 5.  Note the static graphic of the dolphins are being enlarged in Interact mode and note their fins are being cropped as the image is spinning.  I set the object spin rate to about 10%.

We were able to recreate this and we are working on a fix.

I just wanted to add, as I go bug happy crunching for the deadline, that I've been a tester of InteractBuilder since version 1 - I remember tracking element ID numbers! - and the app has definitely come a long way, is much more stable, and is a lot of fun to work with.

I'm already cooking up alternatives to the blocker I just posted, that is the nature of working with any app especially with web technologies.

So good job and keep up the great effort!!

Thank you for your kind words Sean, I've been as frustrated as everyone if not more about all the bugs that have surfaced.  We are working on a new build that should resolve many of the latest reported issues.  As the software expands with more features it becomes more complex to test and QA this massive undertaking.  We are hoping that every release will be a step closer to stabilizing the platform.  Thank you for being a loyal user and supporter!

I just accidentally clicked cancel after typing a lengthy blocking bug report. I'm not happy. Please ask whoever manages this form to add a simple little thing called a confirm dialog when you hit cancel and when the form is not empty. Form validation 101. Argh.

Sorry this happened Sean.  I will submit a feedback note to our vendor that wrote this software. Overall it's a great tool and we are pretty pleased with it. I can see how frustrated one could get if you hit the cancel button by mistake...

Can I delete these files from my app directory? Not sure what they are....

Hi there,

I noticed my app size was showing at 1.29 GB and I know it isn't that large so when I looked in my app folder I noticed a bunch of strange files that are 1.4 MB each and I'm not sure if I can delete them without breaking my app.  Can you please advise what these are and if I can delete them? Are these IB3 necessary files? See screengrab below of file names. Also, FYI when I try to clear my cache, the app throws an error.

1.29GB is huge, but keep in mind when you  share or publish the app only the files that are used in the app will be published.  


You can delete those files, they are backup database files.

I am co-authoring a book with my colleague, Ann Barron. The book is titled: Digital Content Creation in Schools: A Common Core Approach and will be published by Libraries Unlimited, an imprint of ABC-CLIO. The book is designed to help teachers manage and create multimedia projects with their students. In one chapter of the book, we discuss a variety of different development tools. I would like permission to include a screenshot of a self-created sample eBook page created in Interact Builder. Please advise.  Many thanks!

Would it be possible to disable the upper corner Page Flip only for all the pages in the book or maybe page by page as needed.

You can disable the page flip in the Page Properties:





You can disable both Flip option then you can add Navigation elements and place them where you want.

Manage action set error

I needed to rearrange menu items, reassign a bunch of Drag>Move page numbers and halfway through about 20 changes the action set manager malfunctioned, screenshot attached. I closed the program and then it was fine again. Image 135

When I tried to duplicate a page, the duplicate option was not selectable, is this only available to the bought version?

From what I know this action is not a premium one.Here are the stepts to make a duplicate of a page:

This is an update to the problem with 3.4 freezing with database error

I downloaded the update you put out yesterday 1/25 to fix this problem with new Builder 3.4  

I am using Windows 7.1 to create the app.  The problem is with my Windows Player program. 

The two pages in my app that were affected now do play correctly in Player.  However, on one problem page, after it correctly plays in Player, it is impossible to turn the page forward or back.  Then Player can not be shut down so the only way to quit Player is with Task Manager.  The app freezes and must be shut down with Task Manager.

When I use my MacAir Player to view my app this does NOT happen.  I am able to page on past this page and complete the app.

Persistant publication issues

Hi
I am still having many issues with the downloading / running shared version on iPad & nexus tablet. On iPhone and Android phones it doesn't get downloaded at all... and on iPad sometimes goes quite slowly, specially animations. Page turn curl effect doesn't appear... please, I'd need to guarantee my clients that the ebook they'll pay for will be at least executable... thanks for your efforts

We are addressing the sharing issue of large apps with the upcoming version 3.4 update along with addressing the Page Turn Effects in the InteractPlayer.
