Element Manager not working

Jamie Stevens fa 11 anys updated by Inna Komarovsky fa 11 anys 19
The Element Manger window is not showing on my pages after page 11. When I go back to prior pages, I can access it. But not on pages 12 and 13.

Hmm, I haven't encountered that before, and it appeared in a test that I tried just now. I wonder if it has to do with any specific elements on the page. I have a few questions to see if I can reproduce the problem:

- Are you in Design mode when you try to open the element manager?
- Which button do you use to access the element manager -- the icon at the bottom of the window, to the right of "Add Element," or the icon in the bottom center of the page menu?
- Are there any elements on those pages that may be blocking the element manager?
- What types of elements are on those pages?

To answer your questions:
Yes, I'm in design mode
I have tried to access the element manager in both places. It is grayed icon in both places as well.
There are not any elements blocking the element manager.
The types of elements on that page are background, 3 graphic and 6 text.
Since this problem relates the other page jumping issue I'm having and also asked about, I'm going to reboot my computer and see if it resolves these difficulties!
After rebooting my computer I went back into my book app. I still cannot access the elelment manager from either area. The element manager icon is now in color on page menu, but still won't open.
It seems to be just this page 12. I'll copy and paste onto a new page next and see how that goes.
I rebuilt a new page with 8 text elements and 2 graphic, and deleted the orginal page 12.  Here is what I'm running into: The element manager does open from both access points, but the check marks that show if an element is visible in design mode, are on top of the element titles, instead of over on the right side.
The very last (or top layer) graphic element that I added is the close button. I set up the action set and when I run my app in interact mode, the close button isn't there at all. I made sure that "visible at run time" is checked. I seem to have a bug in the system after page 11.
Can you send your app to alin@interactstudios.com so we can take a look at this situation? Thank you for your feedback.
As instructed, I have recreated another page, after page 12, retyping all the text, instead of copying pasting from the page I am having trouble with, which is page 12. The element manager is not displaying at all on this new page, which is page 13. At least on page 12 the element manager displays, although the check marks that tell me if they are visible in design mode are still placed over the element titles, instead of being on the right side. At this point, it looks like any page I create after page 11 is being troublsome.
The only thing I can think of right now on my end, is to go and check my background image file and see if that is faulty.
Jamie try to reinstall InteractBuilder, I've tried to add another page after page 12 with elements and the element manager worked.
Could you please instruct me the correct way to do that? The last time I did attempted an uninstall, I couldn't reinstall.
if you are working on Windows, go to Control Panel in the Uninstall section and from there uninstall InteractBuilder. Then go Program Files and see if there is anything in the Interact Builder folder. If are files besides your apps that remained there delete them. (Before deleting them just make a back up of your apps). After you delete the remained files download Interact Builder from here:
http://www.interactbuilder.com/software/
I have a mac. I am unable to recieve a download of the Builder from the link you sent me, either before log in or after. This has happened before.
Does it work if you log in and then click "Download Now" on the interactbuilder.com homepage menu?
No. After I log in and click "Download Now" it takes me to the membership upgrade page. There isn't a link to download the Builder. This same thing happened earlier this month. Ezra had to send me a direct download link. I can't do it from the Interactbuider website.
Try using this link http://www.interactbuilder.com/download?code=4e0668a7f224a and replacing the current version with the one that you get when you install the program again
I just replaced the builder through the link you sent. I opened my book and the same thing with the element manager shows up on page 12. No difference. I deleted pg 12 and am rebuilding that page. I'll let you know how that goes.
Well, it's not going well. I seem to be having an issue with the text element. Graphic elements are fine, as I'm applying them first. Ther are only 2 graphic elements. But as soon as I add text elements, the element manager doesn't want to open in either location.
I've taken a look at the page on a mac, and it looks to me like the problem may be caused by the commas in the title of the element called "rhyme, word, count, match." I think the commas may be causing a problem with the way the code is structured, so the element manager should be able to show up if you erase the commas in the element name.
Inna, that's a really good catch.  Element names should not contain any special characters. That is more than likely the whole issue.
I will definitely go and rid that title of it commas! And I will surely remember this "rule" in the future.
Thank you all who have helped me here. I very much appreciate it!
The removal of the commas absolutely took care of the problem with the element manager. Thank you!
+1
I'm so glad! I'll make sure to add a note about this in our user guide.
