Make highlighting text decoration overrule default

For narrated text that highlights, sometimes I'd like to have a dropshadow on the text, but not on the highlighted word. Could we have a new Text "Drop Shadow" option in the Define Highlighting Style popup to shut it off? It's hard to read against a color background highlight, so I have to abandon the drop shadow, or do a hacky workaround shadow duplicate, which I then have to manage :( .
